Your Executive Functioning Wheel
A snapshot of how each executive function skill is working for you right now. There are no right answers, just useful information.
Step 1: Your wheel
- Make the wheel your own. Read the short description for each skill and think about how it shows up in your day, at work and at home. To rename, add, remove or reorder a skill, click Edit categories. Click Done editing when you’re finished.
- Score where you are now. With Where I am now selected, rate how each skill is working for you today. 1 = this is a real struggle for me; 10 = this comes easily to me. Use the sliders or click or drag within the wheel.
- Score where you want to be. Click Where I want to be and rate how easily you would like each skill to come to you, using the same scale. You do not need to aim for 10 in every area.
- Reflect, then plan a next step. Add any optional reflection notes. Then click Continue to my next steps to choose one area and create a manageable goal, or simply download or print your wheel.
There are no right or wrong answers. A lower score is not a failing; it simply shows where a tool, routine or support could make things easier. You can leave the desired scores blank if you prefer.
Click or drag inside a segment to set a score. Near the center is 1, the outer edge is 10.
Choose one area to focus on and create a manageable goal. You can return to your wheel at any time.
Step 2: Your next steps
Choose one area where you would like more ease or support. What tool, routine or change to your environment could you try?
You do not need to work on every area or choose your lowest score. Start with one manageable change.
On your review date, ask yourself: What helped? What did I learn? What would I like to adjust?
